SP0005 - MPLS Targeted LDP

The video shows a way of reducing convergence time of LDP on Cisco router with targeted LDP. You will see how targeted LDP is able to maintain LDP session to a neighbor router even after a link to that router has gone down so they do not need to go through session establishment and label exchange after link recovery, and, hence, improve convergence time. While targeted LDP requires specific configuration between two LDP peers, session protection allows you to create targeted LDP to all neighbors with essentially a single command and this will also be covered in this video.

SP0004 - MPLS LDP Authentication

The video demonstrates a process of enabling MD5 authentication for LDP session on Cisco router. There are usually two ways to accomplish this and those are configuring it at the global level as a default authentication for all LDP neighbors, or at the per-neighbor level. You also have a option to tie an authentication to multiple key-chains for even more flexibility. All of these will be covered in this video.

SP0003 - MPLS LDP Label Advertisement (Part 2)

The video focuses on LDP label advertisement on Cisco router. You will learn how to define a number range for MPLS label and control which labels are to be sent to and received from a MPLS neighbor using label filter. By default, a default route does not have a label assigned and we will show you how this behavior can be overwritten. The video finishes with a discussion of LDP transport address and configuration on how to change it from the default of LDP router-id.

SP0001 - MPLS Basic LDP (Part 2)

The video lays a foundation of MPLS by looking at configuration of Label Distribution Protocol (LDP) on Cisco router. We will learn how MPLS routers use LDP to discover their neighbors, create series of LDP sessions to form a Label Switching Path (LSP), and finally exchange MPLS labels. LDP binding table will be examined in attempt to understand how a packet is label-switched from an ingress to an egress router. Wireshark capture will be performed as we will spend time analysing LDP messages and packets.
