The video walks you through Cisco ASA 5500X to FTD conversion process. Rommon is used to erase ASA image and configuration and replace with FTD. We will demonstrate device initialization for local device management as well as preparing it to connect to Firepower Management Center (FMC). You will also get the first look at Firepower Device Manager (FDM).

FTD a replacement for SourceFire
I have source fire on my SSD that I need to upgrade but I don't quite get it, is the FTD a replacement for Sourcefire ? and also an upgrade for the IOS code ?
FTD a replacement for SourceFire
Do you have the original sorucefire appliance or ASA Firepower? FTD is only supported on ASA and FTD devices. FTD combines ASA traditional FW features with NGFW feature of Firepower into a single image.
