The video walks you through different methods that Cisco Access Point uses to discover Wireless LAN Controller and how an AP makes a decision on which controllers to join. Each method will be demonstrated with their order of priority explained. We will mention the purpose of Master Controller and stress on importance of controller priming. Wireshark analysis will be performed throughout the lab for us to examine controller discovery and AP registration processes.

Discovery process
1) Is it inter vlan routing is enabled or not in this scenario.
2) I have multiple switch in between the Ap and WLC. I want to enable the helper address for the Ap to discover the WLC. The WLC and Ap are in different VLAN. So now Where will i need to enable. is it in all switchs or in core/distributed switch ?

If AP and WLC are located in different VLAN, routing need to be enabled. 'ip helper address' needs to be configured on SVI of the VLAN AP is located. Please keep in mind this is more of a last resort and DHCP or DNS options should be preferred.
Difference
What is the main difference between the option 43 and ip forward add option?
Difference
Option 43 inform AP about WLC IP so the AP can registered directly to WLC. ip forward turns AP brodcast discovery message to unicast directed to WLC where WLC would reply to AP with its info.
