SP0015 - MPLS VPN with BGP Route Reflector (Part 2)

Route reflector can be used in MPLS VPN to increase network scalability and routing manageability similarly to IPv4 BGP. This video demonstrates configuration of a route reflector in Cisco MPLS VPN. We will closely look at how a route reflector should be incorporated in a design and its placement choices. The lab also contains a special scenario of load balancing traffic to a site with dual connections, and advance exercises on route filter and Route Target rewrite.

SP0012 - MPLS VPN Managed CE

The video extends the use of Route Target to implementing provider-managed CE devices in Cisco MPLS VPN. A provider usually only need a single IP on a managed CE device to be reachable and this is achieved by selectively exporting an IP, usually on a loopback interfaces, to the provider management VRF. This simple trick allows the provider to manage devices in multiple clients network without compromising network separation.

SP0011 - MPLS VPN Advanced Topology (Part 3)

The video demonstrates different ways of using Route Target (RT) to build advance Cisco MPLS VPN topologies. We will spend time to gain a better understanding of the role of Route Target, and re-enforce the concept of Route Target import, and export, which is needed for our subsequent labs. These will be delivered through two example topologies of hub-and-spoke and extranet MPLS VPN. This method of exchanging routes between VRFs is also known as route leaking.
